The inland area of Tignale lends itself perfectly to the practice of mountain-biking. Thanks to the variety of its route, Tignale is a paradise made of roads and dirt tracks, old mule-tracks and paths that wind their way up the wonderful mountains that surround the inhabited part of Tignale.
Going from the hill to the mountain (up to 1600 mt. of altitude), allows you enjoy exceptional views: from the characteristic terraces where the olive trees dominate, to the rocky walls among the holm oaks, laurel and rosemary, typical of the Mediterranean vegetation, and then up paths that unfold through the woods of pine, ash, chestnut, hornbeam and beech.
For nature and hiking enthusiasts, the Tignalese area also offers many paths of different difficulties and durations. The Tignalese paths are equipped with vertical signs placed at the main intersections. On these signs, the number of the path you are following appears between the white and red bands. The times that appear next to the locations, which can be reached by following the signs, are indicative.
Of course, sometimes it's hard; but how much satisfaction and energy, not only spent, but rediscovered (mental and spiritual) at the top of a ridge with the magnificent lake below, in the forest smelling of essences or in the old mountain hut that oozes with history.
RIFUGIO CIMA PIEMP
Cima Piemp (the top of the Piemp mountain) is located 1,160 metres above sea level. All year round this place offers incredible views; on one side you can see the mountain range of Monte Baldo and Lake Garda, on the other the valleys of Vestino and Trentino. Here on the Cima (the top) you will find a mountain hut and a small church built by the Tignale Alpini group. Construction began in 1983, and took three years. The site was inaugurated on August 10th 1986. Today the refuge has a small refreshment point which is managed directly by the Tignale group of the Alpini. Also, for groups of 10 people or more, it is possible to book a meal and an overnight stay (for the overnight stay you will need to bring your own sleeping bag).
