Who we are and what we do
We have been pursuing our passion since the early 1900s
Where we started from
Our cooperative is an important local reality founded at the beginning of the last century for the associated production of dairy products. Subsequently, at the end of the 1990s, due to the changed socio-economic conditions, it was converted into an organic olive oil mill, with the aim of restoring the valuable Tignalese olive growing heritage and related activities. Despite the changes, the company has remained faithful to its mission of offering support and certainty for a sustainable future, maintaining a deep connection with the local community.
What are we dealing with today
Today we have more than 250 members, mostly hobbyists, and we own an area of over 50 hectares cultivated with olive trees, lemon groves, orchards, meadows and pastures. We use this land for the production and marketing of traditional and organic agri-food products, characterized by a high organoleptic and nutritional profile, guaranteed by careful selection and processing of the raw material.
Today, the Latteria Turnaria represents a point of reference for farmers in the area, offering them consultancy services, support in the cultivation of olives and in the production of high quality oil.
Ongoing projects and future goals
The Latteria Turnaria is attentive to the recovery, valorisation and maintenance of local agricultural traditions and the agro-natural landscapes typical of the Alto Garda Bresciano Park, with a view to sustainable and quality agriculture, with the active participation of the local population. In order to achieve this we organize events and activities for the promotion and dissemination of the agricultural, food and wine and environmental peculiarities of the area.
Through collaboration with some universities and specialized technicians, we are moving towards the recovery of some ancient varieties of corn (MaisAlpi project) and fruits from the Alto Garda Bresciano Park, as well as implementing initiatives aimed at recovering the local citrus heritage ( L.I.P.A.G project).
Shop and museum
Discover our oil mill and visit the museum
The shop, spread over an area of 140 m², gives the opportunity to taste the oils and many other food products produced by the Latteria Turnaria or by the group's partners.
Inside the space you can find our oil mill and a small museum that tells the story of the seasonal cycle of harvesting and processing olives. Both the oil mill and the museum, set up throughout the summer season, are accessible at any time during opening hours. To make the visit to the oil mill exciting we organize guided tours with speakers in Italian, English and German, that ends with a small tasting.
Our shop is located in the hamlet of Gardola in the municipality of Tignale, just outside the historic centre. It is accessible from the large private car park reserved for customers.
Opening hours vary according to different seasonal periods.
